Looking for a private charter/catamaran cruise

We are a family of approximately 20 coming the week of the 4th. We are looking for a private charter or catamaran to celebrate my nieces 21 birthday. We could possibly break into 2 groups if needed. Prefer a sunset cruise but not mandatory. Any suggestions?

Great idea for a 21st birthday — a private charter or catamaran cruise in Panama City Beach (PCB) will make for an unforgettable celebration. For a group of ~20, there are several solid options, depending on how “party-cruise” vs “relaxed sunset sail” you want the vibe to be.

Here are some recommended private charter / catamaran / sailboat options in PCB:

  • Paradise Adventures – 40′ Footloose Catamaran: This is a spacious catamaran (up to ~38 guests) with open deck and sunning area, available for 2- or 3-hour private charters. Good for snorkeling, dolphin watching, or just cruising.
  • Paradise Adventures – 52′ Privateer Catamaran: A larger, more “party”-friendly catamaran that can hold up to 78 guests. It has two nets on the bow, a full bar, and a roomy deck.
    • They offer 2-hour sunset dolphin sails, which may be ideal for your niece’s birthday.
    • You can customize the charter to include snorkeling, Shell Island stops, or just cruising.
  • Paradise Adventures – 47′ Daydreams Sailboat: A more intimate sailboat (max ~12 guests) for private sunset or snorkeling charters. Includes complimentary beverages (soda, beer, wine, sangria) and has an onboard restroom.
  • Private Tiki Sunset Tour – Paradise Adventures: A relaxed, fun tiki-boat cruise that holds up to 26 people. 1.5-hour duration, with tiki lights, music, and a laid-back feel. This could be perfect for a celebratory group.
  • Island Time Sailing – Private Catamaran: They run private catamaran charters for groups; they mention accommodating 30-60 people, so your group of ~20 should fit well. Great for snorkeling, dolphin watching, or a sunset cruise.
  • Cruisin’ Tikis – Big Kahuna / Tiki Boat Cruises: These floating tiki boats are great for a party vibe. Options include a 1.5-hour private sunset cruise (up to ~30 guests), BYOB, sound system, a fun, festive atmosphere.

Tips for Booking & Planning

  • Because you're booking for a holiday week (around July 4th), make reservations as soon as possible — places will book up quickly.
  • Clarify the exact size of your group and whether you need one boat or two. The 52′ Privateer can definitely accommodate 20, but if you want more space, you might consider two smaller ones.
  • Ask about customizing the cruise: you might want a sunset sail, a stop for snorkeling, or just a relaxed evening on the water.
  • Check what’s included: some charters include soft drinks, beer, wine, and even sangria (like the Daydreams), whereas others may have a full bar or require you to bring your own.
  • Discuss music and decorations: with a birthday, you might want to bring a playlist, balloons, or other small decor — many charters are flexible.
  • Confirm how long the cruise will last, where you’ll depart from, and when you’ll return, so you can plan transport (Uber or other) for your large group.

My Recommendation for a 21st Birthday

Given your group size (~20) and occasion (21st birthday), I lean toward the 52′ Privateer catamaran from Paradise Adventures or the Big Kahuna tiki boat from Cruisin’ Tikis. The Privateer gives a more elevated, “cruise luxe” feel with a bar and plenty of room, while the tiki boat offers a fun, festive, island-party atmosphere — both are perfect for a celebratory evening.

Whatever you choose, be sure to secure the booking now, ask about birthday-friendly amenities, and confirm departure logistics so your group has a smooth and memorable cruise. Happy early 21st birthday to your niece — it’ll be a blast out on the Gulf!
