4th of July weekend in Chicago

Hi there! I am planning a visit to Chicago on the 3rd and 4th of July. We are staying near Andersonville. We are planning to do downtown things on the 3rd, -Magnificent Mile, Millenium Park, Gold Coast shopping, ect. What are some fun things to do on the 4th? Should we just go back downtown? Do people have block parties in the neighborhoods? I was thinking we could just walk the Lakefront trail and stop at the different beaches on the way down to Michigan Avenue and/or stroll some neighborhoods. Does anything go on in Andersonville, Lincoln Park or Old Town/Gold Coast? Any street festivals or block parties? Thank you so much!
