wife and I travelling with our 3Yr old for wifes birthday, our second time in maui. 8 ngihts in august looking for places to stay.

our last time we did aston maui vilas and hyatt and def preffered hyatt. even this time we were thinking of splitting our stay into 4 days each. budget about 3k-4k for 8 nights.

want nice toddler friendly pools and beach access, oceanview would be a bonus for atleast few of the nights.

1- if we do 4 nights in hyatt where else can we do the other 4 nights. wailea beaches seem to be kid friendly but are there any oceanfront condos there?

2- ritz carlton kapalua, wailea beach resort, hyatt, kanapalii alli or outrigger all these seem to be around similar inn budget which would you choose?

thanks for all the responses!

For an 8-night Maui trip in August with a 3-year-old, focusing on toddler-friendly pools, beach access, and ideally ocean views, you have some excellent options within your budget. Splitting your stay between two properties is a good idea to experience different areas of the island.

1. Splitting your stay – Hyatt + another property:

If you choose to spend 4 nights at the Hyatt in Ka’anapali, your remaining 4 nights could be in the Wailea area, which is known for calm, kid-friendly beaches and luxury oceanfront condos.

  • Wailea Beach Resort (Marriott): Offers large, toddler-friendly pools, ocean access, and easy dining options. Rooms often have partial or full ocean views.
  • Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea: Slightly higher in budget but exceptional service, kid-friendly pools, and beachfront access.
  • Wailea Elua Village / Wailea Beach Villas: Oceanfront condo-style accommodations with kitchens, pools, and direct beach access. Perfect for families wanting more space and flexibility.

2. Comparing resorts within your budget:

  • Ritz-Carlton Kapalua: Located on Maui’s northwest coast, slightly less toddler-focused pools, more suited for couples or older kids. Gorgeous views, but beach can be rocky in spots.
  • Wailea Beach Resort: Excellent for families with toddlers, multiple pools, calm beach, convenient location for exploring south Maui.
  • Hyatt Regency Ka’anapali: Strong preference noted from your previous stay, good pools for toddlers, beach access, family-friendly atmosphere. Ideal for your first 4 nights.
  • Kaanapali Alii: Oceanfront condos, more independent style, kitchen access. Great if you prefer a condo feel and don’t need full resort amenities.
  • Outrigger Wailea Beach: Smaller property, beachfront, family-friendly, but may have fewer large pools compared to the big resorts.

Recommendation:

Since you liked Hyatt before, I’d suggest:

  • 4 nights at Hyatt Regency Ka’anapali for familiar family-friendly pools and beach access.
  • 4 nights at Wailea Beach Resort or an oceanfront condo like Wailea Elua Village for calm, toddler-friendly beaches and a different Maui experience. Ocean views and flexibility in accommodation style are bonuses.

This plan keeps the vacation balanced between Ka’anapali and Wailea, allows for toddler-friendly swimming, beach access, and a touch of luxury while staying within your $3k–$4k budget for 8 nights.
