October 2025 Roll Call

We are coming back for a 3-night stay the 28th-31st. Found a low airfare and booked a room back at The Gardens Hotel!! The week after Fantasy Fest always seems to be a good time to visit.

Visiting Key West the week after Fantasy Fest is a great choice, as the island tends to be lively but less crowded than during the festival itself. The Gardens Hotel is a lovely, central location with a relaxing atmosphere, ideal for enjoying both the charm of Old Town and the waterfront areas.

Regarding Roll Calls in Key West around October 28th–31st, these gatherings are still happening, typically informally organized by locals and travelers. While they are not officially scheduled, the social tradition continues, especially during times when tourism is high but not overwhelming.

  • Check local social media groups, Key West travel forums, or Roll Call-specific Facebook pages closer to your travel dates for announcements of informal gatherings.
  • Popular spots for Roll Calls include bars and cafes along Duval Street, as well as waterfront locations where travelers often meet to plan group activities or simply socialize.
  • Since your stay is right after Fantasy Fest, you may find that Roll Calls are smaller and more relaxed, which can be a nice change from the festival crowds.

Other tips for your visit during this period:

  • Explore Key West’s historic district, gardens, and local art galleries; walking around Old Town is very convenient from The Gardens Hotel.
  • Consider booking any guided tours, such as snorkeling or sunset cruises, in advance to ensure availability after the festival period.
  • Take advantage of quieter dining spots and bars; some Fantasy Fest-related events may still be winding down, providing a mix of energy and tranquility.

Overall, this timing gives you the benefit of enjoying Key West’s festive atmosphere without the large crowds, and participating in a Roll Call should be relatively easy and enjoyable during your stay.
