Located in Anshun, Guizhou, the Dragon Palace Scenic Area is the best representation of Guizhou's karst terrain. Caves, sinkholes, underground rivers, and waterfalls—all can be found here.
💞 Recommended Reasons: Perfect for teenagers who love cave exploration, boat rides, waterfalls, and watching swallows feed their chicks in and out of caves. This scenic area offers all these experiences in one place, making it truly unique. Highly recommend visiting the Dragon Palace Scenic Area. You can take a taxi or a scenic area shuttle from Anshun, or even a direct bus from Huangguoshu. If you're visiting Huangguoshu, don't miss this spot! We visited in June, before the peak season, and the area was relatively quiet, with only about one-third of the visitors compared to Huangguoshu during the same period, making the experience particularly enjoyable.
📍 Address: Dragon Palace Scenic Area, Anshun City, Guizhou
🗓️ Itinerary:
The two boat rides—First Entrance Dragon Palace and Second Entrance Dragon Palace—are the highlights of the scenic area and should not be missed. You can skip the large elevator and opt for the nearby walking path, which passes through two dry caves. It's not far and quite interesting. Between the First and Second Entrances, there's a small attraction called Tiger Cave. Few people visit it, but it's a large sinkhole cave stretching 500 meters. The interior is cool and well-lit, and when we visited, it was almost empty, making it feel like we had our own private cave. Compared to the crowded sinkhole caves in Huangguoshu Scenic Area, the scenery is similar, but the experience is ten times better. If you love sinkhole caves, don't miss this spot.
