A bronze statue of Usopp, the sniper from the popular manga "ONE PIECE," sits in the rotary in front of Aso Station. It was unveiled on December 8, 2019, as part of the "Hino Country Reconstruction" reconstruction project, a collaboration between the author, Eiichiro Oda, and Kumamoto Prefecture, in hopes of restoring nature in Aso and encouraging pride in the region.
