Family Trip to Australia|Great Ocean Road Edition: Majestic Coastline and Lobster Feast

A road trip is a must when visiting Australia! We selected a few key highlights along the Great Ocean Road, taking our time to enjoy the scenery we love and savoring this legendary coastline at a leisurely pace 💙

^_^ Geelong > Great Ocean Road
👉 Twelve Apostles, Gibson Steps, Loch Ard Gorge

1️⃣ Our first stop was the vibrant photo spot 【Colorful Beach Huts】, where we naturally took tons of "been here" photos 📸. Next, we arrived at the charming 【Geelong】, famous for its wooden bollards along the harbor. Each bollard has its own expression and story—some represent historical figures, while others symbolize local life. It's a delightful small town perfect as the starting point for a Great Ocean Road adventure 🏖️.

2️⃣ Driving along 【Great Ocean Road】, we initially thought, "This feels a bit like Kenting!" 🌊 But after a few turns, the scenery quickly transformed into something truly majestic, especially the stretch near 【Twelve Apostles】—absolutely breathtaking! We also visited 【Gibson Steps】 and 【Loch Ard Gorge】, marveling at how "this place is so worth visiting!"

3️⃣ The culinary highlight was the legendary lobster meal at Apollo Bay, which friends had recommended as a must-try during trip planning!
🐟 Apollo Bay Fishermen’s Co-op
The lobster meat was incredibly fresh and tender, enjoyed by both adults and kids alike. Finally, we fulfilled our pre-trip wish 🦞—this restaurant alone is worth a return trip to the Great Ocean Road!

⛺ We stayed for two nights at 【Apollo Bay Seal Apartments】, which had an excellent location close to the beach and convenient amenities. The two-story accommodation featured four bedrooms, two bathrooms, two kitchens, and two living rooms, all for just over NT$7,000 per night—amazing value! The housekeeping staff included a friendly Taiwanese student working part-time during his studies—super welcoming!

🌄 The biggest surprise here was the morning walk to the nearby reserve. One morning, I ventured out alone and heard strange noises in the forest 😳. Though initially uneasy, I mustered the courage to cross a barrier and climb a slope—only to be greeted by a stunning panoramic view. It was truly spectacular!
