Awaji Yumebutai: A place that transcends time and space and coexists with nature - "The World of Ando Tadao"
Awaji Yumebutai is a comprehensive cultural and leisure facility located on a hillside facing the Pacific Ocean on the east coast of Awaji City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. It is the masterpiece of the famous Japanese architect Tadao Ando. It is an observation deck overlooking the Pacific Ocean. From almost any place, you can see the Pacific Ocean and the scenery of Kobe in the distance.
This is the venue of the international art and craft expo "Japan Flora 2000" held in 2000, and the Dream Stage opened with it.
Dream Stage is actually open 24 hours a day. There is no ticket, so I paid for the underground parking lot. The parking lot seemed empty with few tourists. Of course, this is on normal days. If it is a public holiday in Japan, it might be completely different.
The following is an excerpt from the Awaji Yumebutai photo collection «21st Century Yumebutai» by Tadao Ando:
Awaji Yumebutai hopes that guests who visit "Awaji Yumebutai" will feel the breath of nature that is not noticed in daily life, such as water, wind, light, shade, sky, mountains and sea.
The 21st century is no longer an era where nature can easily create a good environment automatically, but an era where people need to use their own will to actively promote nature and coexist with the environment. I hope that Yumebutai will be a good opportunity to raise people's awareness of the "environment" in which they live, from the natural environment around them, such as trees in the garden, rivers, Mt. Rokko, and Osaka Bay, to long-term changes on the earth's scale, such as natural disasters such as earthquakes.
The Dream Stage, which was born in 2000 as a turning point, hopes to transcend another thousand years and become a place that continues to give people courage surrounded by green mountains and clear waters. #Overseas Travel #Japan Travel #Japan Good Places #Japan Travel Guide #Architecture #Ando Tadao #Hyogo Prefecture #Pacific Ocean View #Architectural Art
