Dhammayangyi Temple

A great destination for the Dragon Boat Festival, Dhammayangyi Temple is a unique pagoda located in the Bagan region, built in the 12th century. The name "Dhammayangyi" means "Perfection of Truth," and it is a Buddhist structure with profound religious significance. Compared to other pagodas in Bagan, Dhammayangyi Temple has a simpler exterior but boasts rich historical depth and a tranquil atmosphere.

The temple's most distinctive feature is its special circular design. The top of the pagoda is round, surrounded by exquisite stone carvings. Inside, the spacious area houses Buddha statues, with light streaming through the lattice windows, creating a serene and peaceful ambiance. The outer corridors of the temple are adorned with various Buddhist scriptures, showcasing the meticulous craftsmanship and devotion of ancient Bagan artisans.
