Stargazing on Batur

There are so many things one experiences when trekking up Mt. Batur. This has got to be one of my favourite experiences. We had clear skies on the way up which resulted in us being able to see the stars and even some shooting stars during this trek!

Another thing to note is to go up by the east side of the volcano instead of the south side. The south side of Mt. Batur is a little bit more dangerous with less crafted paths. If you’re a seasoned trekker than go for it. But if you chose to climb Mt. Batur because you read that it was easy, then take the east side route.
