Mount Agung Bali is 3,142 meters above sea level, can be summited by fit hikers about 5 hours from Besakih Temple starting point and 4-6 hours from the top.
You have to start your ascend at night to be there at the sunrise!
The Balinese believe that Mt. Agung is the abode of the gods, and the volcano, therefore, is revered as sacred. It is on this mountain that the mother of all temples in Bali is located, called Pura Besakih. Entering the temple one has to climb hundreds of steps before reaching the main gate.
