A must-see volcanic sunrise in Bali: Mount Batur

We recommend taking a jeep for the adventure. Along the way, you’ll pass through black lava fields and explore the lava formations created by volcanic eruptions, with plenty of unique volcanic scenery to photograph.

🕰️ Departure time:
It’s best to leave Ubud around 3 AM. The trip to Mount Batur takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, allowing you to wait leisurely for the sunrise.

💡 Notes:
The jeep ride can be bumpy, but there’s no need to hike up the mountain, making it suitable for visitors who prefer not to climb.
