Mount Agung in our backyard

Ubud has never lacked luxury hotels, but they are all hidden deep in the mountains.
However, if you are not pursuing the ultimate service experience, Amandari is worth a visit. This is the most Aman-like Aman, but in terms of travel comfort, it is not the first choice for those who are not Aman fans.
As the oldest luxury hotel in Ubud, Amandari falls behind several other hotels in terms of hardware, and the hotel is relatively small overall, so there is not much space to explore. The entire stay relies on service and atmosphere to make guests feel that this is Aman.
There are some highlights of Amandari:
1. Sundowners on the hill—the sunset is truly stunning. After the rain, you can see the volcano opposite and the misty valley.
2. Traditional Hindu blessing ceremonies.
3. Shuttle service to and from Ubud city center anytime, anywhere.
Now, the drawbacks:
1. The hardware is a bit old, and some renovated rooms have a "musty smell" from the wood.
2. The journey to the Tiger Cave Temple is quite tough, especially after rain when there are many insects and the road is slippery.
3. The restaurant is very average and the response speed is quite slow.
4. The tennis court is a bit worn, with many cracks on the surface.
