Bali Travel Guide: Clothing, Food, Accommodation, and Transportation

Friends planning to visit Bali, take a look here to get some basic understanding before you go~

Bali is divided into three areas: the South (beaches), the Central (Ubud rainforest), and the North (dolphin watching). You can choose your itinerary based on your vacation time.

Recommended travel time: May to October

👔【Clothing】: Bali’s temperature is around 22~30°C year-round. It’s recommended to wear brightly colored island-style shirts/dresses for better photos. The local climate is humid, so bring enough changes of clothes. Also highly recommend water shoes, suitable for both the beach and hiking!

🍜【Food】: Local food mainly consists of fried noodles and grilled chicken skewers, and there are also many Western food options available.

🏨【Accommodation】: Transportation in Bali is inconvenient (it takes at least 2 hours by car from the beach to Ubud one way), so it’s recommended to experience different hotels.
🏖️South Beach: Conrad Bali, located in Nusa Dua, is a quieter area with better water quality. The rooms are a bit old, but the breakfast and pool experience are good, and there is a tennis court. However, there is no nightlife nearby; if you like lively areas, Seminyak is recommended.
🌲Central Ubud: Alila Ubud, about a 30-minute drive from Ubud town, is surrounded by rainforest, offering high privacy. The downside is unavoidable rainforest mosquitoes, and the rooms and pool are relatively small.

🚗【Transportation】: There is almost no public transportation locally, so getting around relies on taxis or car rentals. It’s recommended to rent a car for better value.

Other Notes:
1️⃣ About traveler’s diarrhea: Drink bottled water from hotels or convenience stores daily, and try to avoid drinking untreated water while swimming, surfing, or snorkeling.
2️⃣ About cash: Exchange Indonesian Rupiah in advance.
3️⃣ About visas: It’s recommended to apply for an e-visa in advance. Visa on arrival requires queuing and may take more time if you’re unfamiliar with the process.
