Bambu Indah Resort

There are some hotels in this world that you remember for a lifetime just by seeing their photos.
Bambu Indah is one of those places that amazes you at first glance and becomes even more unforgettable once you stay.
I took a 20-minute drive from downtown Ubud, entering the jungle along a small path. As the bamboo curtain slowly unfolds, uniquely designed bamboo houses hide among the lush green trees, as if stepping into a natural village that breathes.
🏡 Live inside a work of art × Each bamboo house is uniquely designed
Every accommodation at Bambu Indah is handcrafted by local artisans, using bamboo, reclaimed wood, and natural stone as the main building materials.
This time, I stayed in one of their signature homes, the Moon House. The entire bamboo house features a semi-open design, allowing air to flow and light to pour in, with even the walls feeling naturally breathable.
There’s no air conditioning inside, yet it’s never stuffy; instead, you’re surrounded by the wind and sounds of nature. In the evening, you can hear the distant river and birdsong, calming your entire being.
🛁 Bathing in the jungle, walking barefoot on stone steps—this is what relaxation truly means
My bathroom was an outdoor stone soaking tub, right next to green leaves and a river valley. Soaking in warm water in the tropical air while watching stars slowly appear in the sky feels like the entire universe belongs to you alone.
There are no vehicles inside the park, and everyone walks barefoot. Walking from the lodging path to the riverside pool involves stone steps and a suspended bamboo bridge. At that moment, you truly realize:
“How fast our everyday life usually is, and here is a space that lets you retune your rhythm.”
🥗 Farm-to-table primal dining × The true taste of nature
The restaurant, The Bamboo Restaurant, uses fresh fruits, vegetables, spices, and natural fermented ingredients from their own farm. From breakfast fruit bowls, healthy grains, and hand-brewed coffee to plant-based dinners and organic drinks, every bite carries the warmth of the land.
It’s not just the food; even the tableware, chairs, and tabletops mostly come from recycled materials, fully embodying their lifestyle philosophy of “respecting nature and avoiding excess.”
🧘♀️ Mindful days breathing with nature
Besides lodging and food, they offer various body and mind healing experiences, including:
Riverside yoga and meditation classes
Natural material handicraft workshops
Local Ubud cultural tours
Natural SPA healing spaces
If you feel modern life is too noisy, even just one night here can feel like a soul-cleansing bath.

This is not a hotel; it’s nature inviting you to stay a few nights at home
Bambu Indah has no luxury TV walls or standard hotel routines, but it offers slow-breathing air, the purest natural sounds, and a space to help you find your life’s rhythm again.
When starlight falls from the treetops at night, you’ll understand that true luxury in this world is actually “quiet” and “nature.”
