Summer island experience! 6 days 5 nights guide

Only after going to Indonesia did I realize that although it's inconvenient, it's really worth it!

Itinerary sharing:
Day 1: Surabaya airport pickup - Check-in hotel
Someone picked me up at the airport, saving the hassle from the start. After checking into the hotel, free time to explore. Surabaya city center feels like a slightly bigger small town.
Day 2: Surabaya hotel - Sewu Waterfall - Depart for Bromo
Set off at 5 AM to Sewu Waterfall. There was a guide with us (important: to get to the waterfall you have to walk through water! Essential to have rain boots, waterproof bags, and raincoats can be bought nearby).
Day 3: Bromo Volcano sunrise - Black Sand Beach🌋
This day really tests your stamina! Left at midnight, the mountain road was so narrow. The Bromo sunrise is truly breathtaking! After watching the sunrise, took a car down the mountain, then had to hike to the crater myself. The itinerary was well arranged, the experience was great.
Day 4: Penida Island East Route (Diamond Beach - Atuh Beach - Treehouse)
Penida is an independent island, you have to take a boat from Bali, no worries about the boat tickets. Diamond Beach is really beautiful, but the path down is extremely dangerous!❗️ It’s a steep cliff, so know your limits!
Day 5: Penida Island West Route (Angel’s Billabong - Heaven’s Bath - Crystal Bay)
Angel’s Billabong is amazing! It’s naturally filtered beauty, perfect for photos!
Day 6: Stay by Lovina Beach to chase dolphins🐬 - Ubud Rice Terraces
This time stayed right by Lovina Beach! The biggest advantage is—you don’t have to wake up early to see dolphins!🎉 Woke up early, opened the window to the sea, got on the boat directly, super convenient! Seeing dolphins leap out of the water was so healing~ In the afternoon went to Ubud rice terraces, more like a tropical rainforest, fresh air, and there are many treehouses to take photos.

⚠️ Tips summary:
1️⃣ Many places only accept cash (even for boat tickets and small food stalls), exchange enough Indonesian Rupiah in advance!
2️⃣ Bring insect and mosquito repellent! 🦟 Especially for Ubud rice terraces and rainforest areas, local mosquito repellent is not very effective, recommend bringing your own!
3️⃣ Don’t skimp on hiking and water trekking gear:
Volcanic ash is heavy! Wear N95 mask😷 + windproof goggles (regular sunglasses let ash in)
For waterfalls and beaches wear anti-slip canyoning shoes, regular flip-flops will cause nasty falls!
4️⃣ Apply sunscreen! ☀️ Equatorial UV rays are strong, physical sun protection (hat + arm sleeves) is ten times more effective than sunscreen!
5️⃣ Safety first! Don’t push to take photos at Diamond Beach and Angel’s Billabong, there are no railings on the cliffs, slipping is no joke!
