Journey to Indonesia

Our trip to Indonesia began in the Ubud area. I had read a lot about where to stay in Bali and explored all the regions. Ubud is located almost in the center of the island, and we came here for the tropical jungles ❤️. We wanted to find a hotel with a jungle view, and based on our budget, we found an excellent hotel, Sri Aksata Ubud Resort, with a wonderful private terrace overlooking a stream surrounded by jungles 😍😍😍. The view was stunning. The hotel itself was great. The furniture wasn’t new, but it added a special charm ❤️. The hotel grounds were huge, with a pool, though we didn’t use it much and didn’t swim. There’s even a private rice field on the property. Overall, we were thrilled. We stayed in Ubud for a total of 4 days. Since we wanted to see as much as possible during the trip, we spent three days on excursions. Another big advantage of staying in Ubud is that transfers for excursions pick you up easily without any extra charges, and it’s conveniently located to reach the main attractions. On the last day, we were moving to Nusa Lembongan, and in the morning, we decided to visit the famous Monkey Forest. It’s just a 10-minute walk from the hotel, which was very convenient. Oh, the monkeys are a separate love story 😍❤️—so funny, and it’s wonderful that they live in their natural habitat rather than in a zoo. Tickets are required for entry, and the price is quite affordable—just 100,000 Indonesian rupiahs per adult, which is about 450-500 rubles. It’s not wild jungle; everything is arranged for tourists, with plenty of staff on-site to ensure the monkeys don’t bother visitors. There’s also a creativity and arts school on the premises, where workshops and exhibitions are held. It’s a very pleasant place. Additionally, there are several local, colorful temples on the grounds.
In the evening, after returning from the excursion, we strolled through the streets of Ubud. There are many cafes, shops, and bars here, and the nightlife truly comes alive in the evening. There are plenty of options for where to go and what to do, catering to all tastes and budgets. We dined at several local restaurants. One of them was called Three Monkeys. I read reviews on Google Maps, and they were very positive—and rightly so. The place was truly interesting. It has a courtyard, and the view is simply stunning 😍. The service was good, and the food was delicious. However, the best seafood we had in Ubud was at Tropical Restaurant-Ubud. Highly recommend—it’s finger-licking good.
