🐦 Bali Bird Park — Wings, Colours & Conservation in Jungle Paradise

#hellohalloween

Background
Bali Bird Park is located in Batubulan, Gianyar Regency, Bali — about an hour drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport. The park spans approximately 2 hectares and is home to over 1,300 birds from 250 species, many exotic and native, housed in lush, landscaped aviaries and elevated walkways.

The park is deeply involved in conservation, particularly for species like the Bali Starling and Birds of Paradise. It also offers varied botanical plantings — palms, jungle fruit trees, bamboos, cycads — that help replicate natural habitats.

What Makes It Worth Visiting
• Daily shows & interactive experiences: “Free-Flight Bird Shows” (e.g. Bali Rainforest), Birds of Prey displays, pelican feeding, lory feeding, and photo opportunities at Guyu-Guyu Corner where colourful parrots/cockatoos may land on you.
• Facilities are good for families and comfort: restaurants/cafés, gift shops, large shaded aviaries, well-maintained walking paths, restroom facilities, accessible layout.
• A visit here offers not just bird watching but a chance to learn about biodiversity, habitat conservation, and see rare/endangered birds in a more natural, well-kept environment.

My Impression
Walking through Bali Bird Park feels like stepping into a living, breathing painting. The colours, the sounds of wings, the moist scent of foliage — it’s immersive. The moments that stick with me are feeding lories by hand, seeing wide macaw wings spread in flight during the free flight shows, and enjoying the calm in botanical garden areas between the main aviaries. It feels possible to spend a good few relaxed hours here: taking photos, lingering in shaded spots, pausing by waterfalls or ponds. It’s both peaceful and inspiring — a place that nourishes curiosity, calm, and respect for nature.
