A charming French-style town with a significant number of foreign visitors, Sapa boasts a pleasant climate but with a notable temperature difference between day and night. The cost of living is surprisingly affordable, making it an ideal destination for a relaxing vacation.
Before our trip, we did extensive research. In Sapa, you can find many beautiful hotels for just over 200 RMB. If you're looking to enjoy the terraced fields, accommodations are usually farther away. Staying in the French-style town center keeps you closer to various attractions. We recommend staying one night in each area to experience both.
- 🏍 Renting Motorbikes: Sapa is situated on a slope, so having a motorbike makes getting around much easier. Rentals cost only a few dozen RMB per day, eliminating the need for taxis. Alternatively, you can use Grab for ride-hailing services in the area.
- 🏜 Nearby Attractions:
🌟 The World's Most Beautiful Three-Line Train: Head to My Garden for breakfast or afternoon tea. It's the best spot to view the iconic red train without crowds. Trains run every 15 minutes.
🌟 Sun Plaza Station: A landmark building that's free to visit. The interiors of nearby hotels are also stunning, exuding a French vibe.
🌟 Moana Garden: Features a giant exotic sculpture and picturesque photo spots. Tickets cost around 15 RMB per person and include a cup of coffee.
🌟 Cat Cat Village: A small hillside village with a well-developed commercial area. It feels like a fairytale world where you can rent traditional costumes for photos. Be prepared for a bit of a workout to explore the entire village.
🌟 Fansipan Mountain: The highest peak in Vietnam. You can hike or take a cable car to the summit, where you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views and the sight of Asia's largest bronze Buddha statue.
