Tat Kuang Si Bear Rescue Centre

The Tat Kuang Si Bear Rescue Centre is located in Kuang Si Falls Park, about 30 kilometers from Luang Prabang. It is operated by Free the Bears in collaboration with the Lao Forestry Department since 2003.  

The centre is home to moon and sun bears rescued from wildlife trafficking and bear bile farms. The bears live in large open-air enclosures with toys and natural stimuli such as hammocks and wooden toys.

Visitors can explore the centre via wooden walkways and observation decks, learning about each bear and the problems of wildlife trafficking. Proceeds from admissions and donations go towards animal care and expansion of the sanctuary.
