Maoxian is a key transportation hub and a must-stop for those traveling along the "Nine Ring Road West" to the World Natural Heritage sites of Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong. Maoxian County is home to my country's largest concentration of the Qiang ethnic group and boasts a rich cultural heritage. The county seat houses a Qiang Museum. The county boasts abundant tourism resources, including national 4A-level scenic spots such as the "Qiangxiang Ancient Village," provincial-level scenic spots like Diexi Songpinggou and Jiudingshan-Wenzhengou Grand Canyon, the Diexi earthquake site, one of the world's most well-preserved sites, the Black Tiger Qiang Village watchtower complex, and the Yingpanshan Neolithic cultural site. The Baodinggou National Nature Reserve and Tudiling National Forest Park are also home to new tourist attractions, including the Jiudingshan Alpine Ski Resort, Qiang City, and the Black Tiger Qiang Village.
