BATAD RICE TERRACES

#philippinestrip The place is worth the trek. The main village is a good 1.5 to 2hrs walk from the drop off point and parking area.

Depending on the time of your visit, the terraces may be in full bloom, a mix of yellows and greens, or might be overgrown as they only have 1 planting season.

The roads are slippery and can be dangerous. The stairs are very steep and narrow.

It’s a 2000 year old rice terraces, remote, people are very simple and there are still habits that city people might frown upon like the spitting of nganga, keeping of poultry and livestock in their homes.

For me, I feel grateful and blessed I had opportunity to see this place.
