Baihuazhou, located within East Lake in Bayi Park in downtown Nanchang, consists of three small islands: North, South, and East. Its name originated from the poem " Butterfly Loves Flowers — Ode to Baihuazhou " written by Emperor Zhaozong of the Song Dynasty . Baihuazhou has been famous since ancient times, and two of the " Ten Scenic Spots of Yuzhang " include " East Lake at Night " and " Supu Spring Vegetables . "
During the Shaoxing reign of the Southern Song Dynasty, Zhang Cheng, the governor of Yuzhang, built a military training hall here to train naval forces . In the 11th year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty ( 1746 ), Peng Jiaping, the governor of Jiangxi Province, inscribed the inscription " Baihuazhou . " The poets Zhang Jiuling of the High Tang Dynasty, Li Shen of the Middle Tang Dynasty, Du Mu of the Late Tang Dynasty, and Xin Qiji of the Song Dynasty all left poems and essays about Baihuazhou.
