Exploring Wat Pho, Bangkok

If you are in Bangkok this is a must visit. Wat Pho is one of the most famous temples in this Thai city and is especially well known for it’s impressive “reclining Buddha” statue. It’s riverside location makes it easy to catch the river bus to Wat Arun; a spectacular temple on the opposite river bank. Be aware that you need to wear modest clothes to gain entrance to this and most temples in Thailand; covered shoulders and legs are required, and you will be given scarves to cover up with at the entrance gate if you are not wearing appropriate clothes. The entire site is very large and can take a few hours to stroll around. I recommend bringing a fan and umbrella for shade as it can become extremely hot under the afternoon sun.
