Phra Sri Mahathat Woramahawihan Temple

Wat Phra Sri Mahathat Woramahawihan, Bang Khen
This temple was built as a monument to the democratic regime. It is located in the Bang Khen field area, an important historical area because it was once a battlefield between the government soldiers of the People's Party and the Boworadet rebels in 1933.
🛕 The ordination hall was inspired by the ordination hall of Wat Benchamabophit, but the pediment of the ordination hall is carved in the shape of Phra Arun Thepbut, a deity whose body is only half-bodied, which is rarely seen anywhere else.
🛕 A large white pagoda. This pagoda has its throne removed and is connected to a lotus bud. The number of lotus bud levels is 6, which corresponds to the 6 principles of the People's Party. When you enter the pagoda, you will find another golden pagoda, which enshrines the relics of the Lord Buddha brought from India. The inner walls of the pagoda contain the remains of people in the People's Party or people related to them.
