Zhang Caiqin (1901-1984), formerly known as Xuerong, was a native of Jiangjin, Chongqing. He was a famous Chinese painter and modern education activist. In art, Zhang Caiqin is famous for his bamboo paintings and is known as "Zhang Bamboo". Bamboos are towering into the sky. Zhang Laiqin's persistence and belief in art are like the guidance of moonlight, allowing her to keep climbing up on the road of art, as if to "grasp the moon". In terms of education and patriotic activities, as a teacher, Zhang Caiqin has been teaching and educating people all her life, imparting what she has learned to students to give back to the society. As the general affairs manager of the Sichuan Art Association, during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, she used the name of art not only to provide a quiet place for people from the literary and art circles who came to Sichuan, but also actively devoted herself to the patriotic cause of the war of resistance, generally doing her best to "support the wind".
As one of the "Mr. Bashu" collection series exhibitions, the "Grasping the Moon and Supporting the Wind" exhibition focuses on Zhang Caiqin, a modern and contemporary Chinese painter from Sichuan. It uses four chapters to interpret and display his legendary life on the artistic path, and presents the artistic atmosphere achieved by Zhang Caiqin in the changing times from a first-person perspective.
