Somdejya Temple = Anongkaram Worawihan Temple

🙏Wat Anongkaram Worawihan, a second-class royal temple, was built in the early Rattanakosin period. It was originally named Wat Noi Kham Thaem, after its creator, Thanpuying Noi, the wife of Somdet Chao Phraya Borom Maha Phichaiyati (That Bunnag), to be a temple alongside her husband's Wat Phichaiyatikararam.
🏰Wat Noi Kham Thaem means the temple built by Thanpuying Noi, Than Kham Thaem, and completed later. Later, King Rama IV gave it the name Wat Anongkaram.
Interesting things in the temple include:
🏰Thai-style ordination hall, made of brick and mortar, built in the reign of King Rama III. There is a Buddha image in the Mara-Vijaya posture, lacquered and gilded, as the principal Buddha image, enshrined in a pavilion above a pedestal.
🏰Thai-style chapel, a brick and mortar building, with a metal-cast Buddha Chula Nak in the Mara-Vijaya posture, brought from Sukhothai, as the principal Buddha image.
🙏There are Buddha images of disciples. Cast in gold-plated metal, standing on the left and right. In front of the principal Buddha image, there is Phra Phuttha Mangkhalo, a Buddha image in a meditative pose. 🛕 The pavilion enshrines a reclining Buddha image copied from Wat Ratcha Thiwat, and another building enshrines a replica of the Buddha's footprint. 🏕 Wat Anongkaram is well known as "Wat Somdej Ya" because Somdej Phra Srinakarindra Boromarajajonani originally lived near Wat Anongkaram.
🏢 When he was young, he studied at Wat Anongkaram, which Somdej Phra Phutthachan (Noam Phutthasaro), the abbot of the temple at that time, established a school for girls. He continued his studies at the Suksanari School, which was also a school under the patronage of Somdej Phra Phutthachan.
