▫️Wat Arun or also known as “Wat Arun Ratchawararam”
It is one of the prominent and historically significant temples of Thailand. It is located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok.

▫️It was originally called “Wat Makok”. Later, during the reign of King Taksin the Great, the name was changed to “Wat Arun or Wat Chaeng”.

▫️The name Wat Arun or Wat Chaeng comes from the name given by King Taksin of Thonburi after he returned with his army at dawn in front of this temple. After reclaiming Ayutthaya and moving the capital to Thonburi.

▫️He chose this temple as the location of the capital. Strategically located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River
