.. Located between Khlong Wat Chaeng and the Old Palace on the west side of the Chao Phraya River, Wat Arun Subdistrict, Bang Kho Lae District, Bangkok
.. It is the temple of King Phutthaloetla Naphalai (Rama II) in the Rattanakosin period.
.. It is an ancient temple built in the Ayutthaya period, originally named Wat Bang Makok or Wat Makok. The name Wat Arun or Wat Chaeng comes from the name given by King Taksin the Great after he led his army back at dawn in front of this temple after reclaiming Ayutthaya after the fall of Ayutthaya for the second time.
