🏡Wat Bang Phlat was built in 1897 and received the royal charter of the boundary of the temple in 1901. It was originally named Wat Bang Phlat Nai, along with Wat Bang Phlat Nok or Wat Awutwikasitaram. The history of its construction is unknown. It is only known that it is an ancient temple from the Ayutthaya period.
It is said that a number of monks and villagers migrated from Ayutthaya when the capital fell in 1767 and settled on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. Later, it was established as a temple. Because the monks and villagers migrated, this place was called Bang Phlat.
Important and interesting things in the temple are as follows:
🏠 The ordination hall has a convex base like a ship's hull. The sema stones are in the late Ayutthaya style. Inside, there are many Ayutthaya-style Buddha images.
🏕 The chapel inside enshrines Phra Phuttha Anantachin (Luang Pho To, Wat Bang Phlat).
