[Thailand/Bangkok] The glittering golden temple * Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) *

Wat Phra Kaew (commonly known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha) in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, was built during the Ayutthaya period and was designated a royal temple during the reign of King Rama III.

It is said that the reason it is called "Emerald" is because the main hall enshrines the Emerald Buddha made of jade!!

I was overwhelmed by the building's glittering decorations, which are a symbol of Bangkok!! (It was a shame that the weather was too good to capture the sparkling feeling well.)

The animal statues placed here and there were cute.
