For those interested in the architecture of the Wang Na school, Wat Mahathat Yuwaratrangsarit has 3 buildings to see: the Ubosot, the Vihara, and the Phra Mondop.

The Phra Vihara Luang enshrines 5 Buddha images. It was built at the same time as the Ubosot and the Phra Mondop when Somdet Phra Bowonratchao Maha Sura Singhanat built it in 1783.

The pediment is made of a Naga Lamyong, extending straight from the gable to the tail of the swan. There is no curved part called Naga Sadung.

Originally, the Ubosot would be the same length as the Vihara, but when the Ubosot was expanded, the sizes were different. King Rama I ordered the front and back porches to be the same length as the Ubosot, which is 12 rooms.

Inside the Vihara, there are also candle-shaped royal swords. It is the royal sword that His Royal Highness Prince Maha Sura Singhanath used throughout his life and offered as a tribute to the Buddha.
