#Bangkok Itinerary
If you are visiting Bangkok, Wat Arun must be included in your itinerary! This temple on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River is not only full of history, but also has a very high photo rate. I have compiled a super detailed guide 👇
🏯History Popular Science
Wat Arun, also known as the Temple of Dawn, was built to commemorate the Chinese national hero Zheng Zhao. Legend has it that Zheng Zhao led his troops to recover the country and passed by here at dawn. Later, he ordered the temple to be rebuilt and renamed. The Phra Phraya in the temple is 79 meters high and is the first place to be exposed to sunlight every day. This is also another origin of the name "Wat Arun".
🚗Transportation Guide
Take the BTS to Saphan Taksin Station, follow the crowd to the pier, and take a ferry in a few minutes to the Wat Arun on the other side. The ticket price is very cheap, and you can also enjoy the scenery of the Chao Phraya River. If you have a lot of luggage or are in a hurry, it is also convenient to take a taxi directly with Grab.
🎫Tickets & Opening Hours
The ticket price is only 50 baht and the opening hours are 8:30-17:30. However, if you want to take beautiful photos with fewer people, it is recommended to go early in the morning. This will not only avoid the large number of tour groups, but also provide soft sunlight and great light and shadow effects.
📸Photography and check-in spot
1. Shoot from above under the Great Pagoda: Stand right below the Great Pagoda and shoot from above with the pagoda as the background. This will give you a tall and majestic feeling, and you can also include the sky in the picture. The blue sky sets off the exquisite pagoda, which is super stunning.
2. Pagoda Stairs: Walk up the stairs and look back at the middle platform to take a photo. The people and the entire building complex of Wat Arun are in the same frame, and the picture is rich and beautiful.
3. Side door of the temple: There are relatively few people here. The simple door frame is matched with carvings. Standing in front of the door or leaning against the door to take pictures, it is full of literary and retro feeling.
👗 Outfit suggestions
You can wear light-colored clothes, such as white or light blue long skirts, which match the colors of Wat Arun. If you want to be more distinctive, you can also wear traditional Thai costumes to fit in better.
After visiting Wat Arun, there are many delicious restaurants and dessert shops nearby, which are perfect places to replenish energy when you are tired. In short, Wat Arun is really worth a visit, save it and put it in your Bangkok itinerary💖
