Wat Arun is one of the most representative Buddhist temples in Thailand and an important landmark in Bangkok, located on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River. Its Thai name is Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan, often referred to as Wat Arun, and its Chinese name is "Temple of Dawn" or "Temple of Zhengwang". The most striking feature of this temple is the central tower (Prang), which is 70 meters high and decorated with colorful ceramic pieces and shells, sparkling and very spectacular.
Photographing Wat Arun at dawn or sunset is particularly romantic, and many tourists take a boat trip there just to capture the dreamy moment when the golden sunlight shines on the tower. It is also a great option to watch from a cafe or restaurant on the other side of the river. In addition, the temple has intricate carvings, solemn Buddha statues, and a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere, making it ideal for quiet worship or photography.
Tickets to Wat Arun are relatively cheap, but please be careful to dress appropriately and avoid sleeveless tops and shorts to show respect. In general, Wat Arun is not only a masterpiece of religious architecture, but also a microcosm of culture and history. It is a stop not to be missed when visiting Bangkok.
