Introducing Kuiju Building

Kuiju Tower is located in Hongkeng Village, Hukeng Town, Yongding County, Fujian Province. Its designer was Wu Yifu, a Hanlin scholar and sworn brother of its owner, Lin Kuiyang. Over the past century, the tower has housed four individuals who passed the imperial examinations and reached the rank of seventh rank or higher, over 20 university students, and over 40 overseas Chinese. As the couplet on the main gate reads, "Kui Star illuminates the flourishing of civilization; the clan gathers here for a new atmosphere."

Kuiju Tower is a large, square earthen building with a palace-like structure. From a distance, it resembles the Potala Palace. Seen from above, the building blends seamlessly with the mountain ridge behind it, resembling a tiger descending a mountain. Kuiju Tower is the "tiger's head," and two windows in the front wall resemble tiger eyes, a design inspired by the geographical characteristics of the tiger's shape.
