The Metropole - A Mysterious Bangkok Budget Hotel With Old English Vibes

If you’re looking for a budget friendly hotel with a difference in Bangkok you should check out the Metropole. I stayed for four nights and would highly recommend it to anyone, it’s very affordable and the room is big and comfortable.

The hotel itself has an old England vibes and feels like an 1930’s London inside, there is dark wood throughout and iconic green glass lampshades. The foyer has amazing leather sofas, a grand piano and beautiful lighting.

The room itself was really nice with an enormous, comfortable bed and lots of amenities. The shower had good pressure and the Japanese style toilet was a nice extra! Also the mini kitchenette was great, having a washing machine to clean sweaty clothes was amazing!

The room is quiet so I got a good sleep every night and the staff were very friendly. There is a pool and a small gym but I didn’t find the time to use it! Breakfast is a good range of western and Thai foods and they do fresh cooked eggs to order which is great.

It’s not near a metro but it’s accessible by grab and the local buses can take you down to the nearest MTR / BST stations.
