The Hongfo Pagoda is located in an abandoned temple south of the fourth group of Hongxing Village, Jingui Town, Helan County, over 20 kilometers from Yinchuan. A three-story octagonal brick structure, it combines pavilion-style and covered bowl-shaped structures. Its unique form and simple style make it a rare ancient pagoda in China. Construction began in the late Western Xia Dynasty (1190-1227). Due to years of neglect, earthquakes, rising groundwater levels, and wind and rain damage and erosion, the Hongfo Pagoda was severely damaged. In 1990, with approval from the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, a demolition and reconstruction plan was approved for restoration. This is a rare ancient pagoda in China. Unearthed artifacts indicate that the Hongfo Pagoda was built in the late Western Xia Dynasty, dating back over 800 years. It is now managed by the Helan County Cultural Relics Department and attracts numerous visitors each year.
