#OldHouseTellsStories - Charoen Krung 23
Did you know? Yaowarat district isn’t just about food! 🍜🍲
If you walk deeper into Soi Charoen Krung 23 (Charoen Chai Alley), you’ll find an old wooden house that looks ordinary from the outside... but it hides more stories than it seems 👀
This is "Old House Tells Stories" — an old wooden house in the Charoen Chai community that used to be the lodging for a Chinese opera troupe and now has become a warm and lively exhibition space showcasing the culture of Thai-Chinese people 👘🎎
Inside the house, there are opera costumes, traditional Chinese wedding outfits, old-fashioned items, and stories collected by the community. The atmosphere feels like stepping into your grandparents’ youth. Walking up the creaky wooden stairs, you’ll find the upper floor divided into different zones to explore and enjoy 🎭📷
This place isn’t decorated luxuriously like a big museum, but it’s full of sincerity and the energy of the community wanting to share old stories with the new generation.
One corner might just be an old box, but if you stand and read the details, you’ll realize that “this box” was once part of a performance that brought joy to the whole market 😌
💬 Come stroll and gently experience the past with a contemporary Chinese vibe at “Old House Tells Stories” 📸 For friends who love photography and learning new things in a unique way, give it a visit..
