Yang Tingbao's former residence, also known as "Chengxian Cottage," is located at No. 104 Chengxian Street, Xuanwu District. It was designed and built by Mr. Yang Tingbao in October 1946. The courtyard covers approximately 1,000 square meters. Within the courtyard, there are clusters of fine trees, including pine, Chinese toon, and loquat trees, all tall and verdant, casting a dense, shaded canopy. Several vegetable plots are also located, lush and vibrant with foliage. At the head of the vegetable plots stands a stone-fenced well. A small greenhouse and a clump of bamboo trees, their shadows cast in a poetic atmosphere, stand against the north wall. The gates are made of iron and face west, facing the street. Two small rooms in the southwest corner, formerly gatehouses, are now vacant. Following the holly-lined cement path for over ten meters, turning north, you will reach the former residence, built in the northeast of the courtyard.

The main building of the former residence faces south and is a Western-style, three-bay, two-story building with a brick-concrete structure, wooden doors and windows, an internal staircase, a red flat-tiled roof, and beige-gray exterior walls. The building covers an area of ​​164 square meters. Its design is simple and practical. A portrait of Mr. Yang Tingbao hangs in the main hall on the first floor, depicting him with a serene smile. The west living room and east study retain the furnishings he had during his lifetime. The living room served as his place for receiving guests, while the study served as his retreat for reading and cultivating his character. The second floor houses three bedrooms, all clean, spacious, and comfortable. A kitchen and bathroom are located adjacent to the northeast wall. A stone tablet inscribed "Yang Tingbao's Residence" is embedded at the foot of the west wall. The entire residence is currently occupied by Mr. Yang's 98-year-old wife, Ms. Chen Faqing, and their daughter.
