Exhibition "Breath of Urban Poor"

A thought-provoking showcase...
"Authentic or Superficial"
The Path of Inequality for Urban Poor

This exhibition delves into the real-life dimensions of society, revealing the hidden truths of existence. It portrays the lives of urban dwellers whose happiness and freedom are often compromised, presented through audiovisual experiences that engage the senses—sight, sound, and spirit. It explores the coexistence of daily life with economic, governance, and societal transitions that often conflict with basic needs.

The exhibition highlights the pulse of urban residents, many of whom await opportunities to utilize their inherent skills, shaped by their experiences and resilient hearts. It employs easy-to-understand statistical infographics and creative displays that vividly convey the struggles and realities of urban life.

One striking idea is the adaptation of product price tags to reflect the "price of life," symbolizing the struggles of urban dwellers across three generations. This creative approach offers a profound perspective on the challenges faced by different age groups.

Visitors can also participate in discussions and hear firsthand accounts from those facing hardships and those working to solve these issues. These dialogues aim to foster understanding and drive change.

One memorable moment was listening to "Uncle Sawai," a featured case on THAI PBS's "Urban Poor" program. He shared his life story with sincerity, emphasizing the need for opportunities rather than monetary aid, saying, "Money given to me will eventually run out; I just need a job because it's my way to survive."

This exhibition is a timely reflection of the current state of our society, questioning how happiness and well-being can be distributed more equitably across urban and rural areas in Thailand.
