[Wat Paknam] Bangkok: A temple filled with colors like outer space

Located in the western part of Bangkok near the Chao Phraya River, Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen is a temple with few tourists where you can quietly experience local life and spiritual culture. It was established in 1610 during the Ayutthaya period and was revived by the great meditation master Luang Pu Sodh .

The approximately 80-meter-tall white five-tiered stupa "Maharatchamongkhon" features a small emerald glass pagoda on the top floor and neon-colored ceiling paintings, creating a fantastic space that looks like a depiction of the universe .

The top floor of the beautiful five-story stupa houses a meditation room and exhibition rooms (with Buddha statues, statues of famous monks, antique displays, etc.), where you can take your time exploring .

The garden and canal-side scenery are also peaceful, and you might encounter cats and dogs. It was a temple where you can feel the life of local Thai people 🍃.
