🏘 Wat Bang Bua was established around 1837 by Phra Ya Si, Phra Ya Phet Prani, Phra Ya Phuk Phakdi, and Phra Ya Ratcha Lak Mueang. Originally named Wat Lat Nam Khem, it was later renamed Wat Bang Bua.
Key attractions and significant features within the temple include:
🏠 The Thai-style ordination hall (Ubosot), built in 1976, featuring a three-tiered tiled roof, decorative gables, and crown-shaped doors and windows inspired by Ayutthaya art. The hall is surrounded by a walkway and a sacred boundary wall. Inside, the principal Buddha statue is a Sukhothai-era sculpture.
🙏🏽 Additionally, the temple houses Buddha statues from the U-Thong period, a replica of Phra Buddha Chinnarat, and statues depicting various postures such as "Stopping the Relatives" and "Naga-Protected" from the Sukhothai era.
🏕 Other structures include a pavilion housing a replica of the Buddha's footprint, a sermon hall, a prayer hall, and a bell tower.
