When six artists join forces to hack the world of dreams and create a new era of totems, "Dream Hackers & Neo Totems" is an exhibition that invites us to explore the boundaries of our imagination with contemporary art. 🔮✨
This exhibition compares the artists to "Dream Hackers," who use art as totems, connecting energy, memory, and identity to create a new, limitless world. Totems are interpreted as contemporary symbols, not just traditional sacred objects, but also as characters, games, anime, or mascots that reflect beliefs and values in the digital age. All this makes this an artistic experiment that connects the past, present, and future in a fresh way.
The exhibition features works by six artists from six different nationalities: Izzy Faith V (Australia), Yuta Tamura (Japan), Susiyo (Indonesia), Nuno Raminhos (Portugal), CHRIIXX (Philippines), and Flowskull (Thailand).
🎨 Izzy Faith V (Australia) creates modern mythology with a pop-sci-fi tone. Celebrating female strength through surrealist imagination and a new dimension of feminine power.
🎨 Yuta Tamura (Japan) depicts Japanese mythology and values using 8-bit pixelated low-relief clay sculpture, creating a powerful world that blends anime, games, and traditional art, demonstrating a mastery of this inimitable technique.
🎨 Susiyo (Indonesia) uses pop-surrealist works filled with symbols such as mojo-headed children, bizarre creatures, and objects that come to life, depicting local beliefs, faith, and Indonesian political history, inviting viewers into a world of freedom and the contradictions between reality and dreams.
🎨 Nuno Raminhos (Portugal) portrays the courage and heroism of everyday life with comic-style paintings that incorporate magic, poetry, and a warlike atmosphere.
🎨 CHRIIXX (Philippines) uses surrealism to capture emotions, conveying hope and empowerment through glowing light. Examples include Guardian of Light and The Light Keepers, which reflect the struggle against darkness and embracing connections with those who help maintain the "light within."
🎨 Flowskull (Thailand) creates a parallel universe, Skull City, filled with skull-shaped characters. The world of the dead has become a new starting point. Bone City, Ani-Skull City, and Skull Bot City reflect the journey of self-discovery and confrontation with fear through accessible yet profound pop art symbols.
"Dream Hackers & Neo Totems" is not just the name, but the core of the exhibition. Each artist acts as a dream explorer, creating a limitless surreal world. Each work is a contemporary totem, reflecting the identities, beliefs, and values of artists from each culture in the digital age, but connecting art with cultural meaning and endless interpretation.
