- Sukantharam was built around 1907 by the Suwannamalik family, who together with the locals, helped construct the temple. It was nicknamed "Wat Mai" because it was built after other nearby temples. Later, the name was changed to "Wat Sukantharam." The exact date is unknown, but it has remained in use to this day. Renovations began around 1945 and continue until the present. Sukantharam received the royal charter around 1918 or earlier. The boundary of the charter is 15 meters wide and 3 meters long. The consecration ceremony was held on March 19, 1920. Sukantharam Temple has been offering Buddhist studies since 1958. It houses a library and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's health center, providing regular services. Government agencies also use the sermon hall for various public services.
- Important Events at the Temple: Somdej Phra Buddhacarya visited the temple for the celebration of his promotion. The abbot of Wat Rat, first class, who is Phra Khru Sri Bunyaphirak, on January 30, 2006.
