Long 1919 is more than just a tourist attraction, it's a journey back in time to a 170-year-old Chinese steamship and warehouse on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. The beautifully preserved Chinese architecture of the San He Yuan (traditional Chinese "San He Yuan") imbues the place with a charming blend of Thai and Chinese history.
Long 1919's highlight is its blend of cultural heritage and contemporary lifestyle:
Mazhou Shrine: Enshrining three incarnations of the Goddess Mazhou from China, this popular spot is a popular place to pay respects and seek blessings.
Architecture and Photo Spots: The teakwood building and ancient brick walls, with its beautiful auspicious murals, provide a classic and photogenic backdrop, especially in the evenings along the Chao Phraya River, when the light is beautiful and the red lanterns are illuminated.
Lifestyle Area: Formerly home to art and craft shops owned by young artists. and restaurants/cafés. However, currently (after 2021), the venue is undergoing renovations and development into The Integrated Wellness Destination under the management of AWC. As a result, some of the retail spaces may close, resulting in a much quieter atmosphere.
Important Note: Although the retail and restaurant spaces will be reduced according to the new development plan, Mazu Shrine remains open to the public for worship. The ancient building remains a valuable and beautiful site for architectural admiration and photography.
