Wat Arun, also known as the 'Temple of Dawn,' is located on the west side of the Chao Phraya River. It is open daily from 8 AM to 6 PM, and the entrance fee for foreigners is 200 baht. A dress code is required for entry, so visitors should wear modest clothing that covers the shoulders and knees. Sleeveless tops and short shorts are best avoided.
The central tower of the temple is even more magnificent up close, with intricate porcelain pieces and floral patterns embedded in its design. Since the temple closes at 6 PM, it is recommended to enjoy the evening view from across the river after sunset. There are many famous restaurants on the opposite side of the river where you can enjoy the Wat Arun night view, so make a reservation before visiting. Pairing Wat Arun with the Grand Palace and Wat Pho in your itinerary will make for a full day of exploration.
