Introducing Mosque

The Guiyang Mosque, located west of Xiazhuangyuan Street in the city center, is the city's only Islamic mosque. During the Cultural Revolution , the mosque was damaged, with much of its structure collapsing. It was later rebuilt with government funding. The rebuilt mosque now occupies approximately 620 square meters.

The temple's street-facing gate is a classical archway-style square gate built of massive stone. A meter - long stone tablet is embedded in the center of the lintel , inscribed with the three characters " Mosque " in running script . The characters are large, foot-wide, and powerful. The door rails are built vertically with stone slabs, and the front of the doorpost is inscribed with a couplet in regular script: " Pure and honest, always happy to share happiness with others and gather blessings " ; the lower line reads " Sincere and without delusion, all sing of great things to extend blessings . "

The main hall of the mosque faces east and west and is a palace-style ancient wooden structure with three bays, wooden floors, green tubular tiles, flying eaves, and wooden lattice doors. It is simple and elegant and is a place for believers to worship.
