Wat Ratchaorotaram Ratchaworawihan is a first-class royal temple of the Ratchaworawihan type, located on the banks of the Sanam Chai Canal on the Thonburi side of the Thonburi River, adjacent to the Bang Wa Canal. Originally named "Wat Chom Thong," it was built before the founding of Bangkok.
It is the royal temple of King Rama III and features a blend of Thai and Chinese styles. Distinctive features include the use of glazed tiles on the pediment, the use of solid square pillars to support the roof, and the decorative Chinese motifs. The British ambassador praised it as the most beautiful in Bangkok.
