Wat Intharam Worawihan

Wat Intharam Worawihan is one of the prominent royal temples from the Thonburi era. It was built and completely renovated by King Taksin the Great before being established as a first-class royal temple. The King frequently visited the temple for meditation, religious practices, and royal ceremonies, making it the royal temple of his reign.

Currently, it is a third-class royal temple with several significant attractions, including the Twin Chedis of National Salvation, which house the relics of King Taksin the Great and his consort, Krom Luang Batricharika (Son). Other highlights include the equestrian statue of King Taksin, the principal Buddha image in the old ordination hall containing the King’s relics, the Phra Phuttha Chinaworn Buddha image in the new ordination hall, and the unique and rare Buddha images such as the Reclining Buddha lying on the left side and the Buddha in the cremation posture. The temple also features the Viharn of King Taksin the Great, the Black Buddha statue, and various artifacts from the King’s era, such as his royal bed and meditation seat.

Visiting this temple provides a sense of peace and positive energy. The exquisite art and architecture are truly stunning, making it a must-visit destination. The temple is serene, with ample parking space. It is recommended to visit in the late afternoon for a tranquil experience. Don’t forget to mark this spot on your map!
