[Bangkok Travel] Bangkok's 'Wat Pho Temple', a temple where sacredness and splendor coexist

Is there something you really want to do when you go to Thailand? I'm not religious, but I really wanted to visit a temple in Thailand ✨ I was debating between Wat Arun and Wat Pho, but I ended up going to Wat Pho because it was a little cheaper and closer :)

I was satisfied with seeing Wat Arun from across the river, but I definitely want to visit it next time I go to Bangkok 🙂

When going to a temple in Thailand, sleeveless tops and short pants are prohibited. Originally, slippers and flip-flops were not allowed, but I heard that the regulations have been relaxed recently! If you go wearing sleeveless tops or short pants, you have to wear a long skirt that the temple lends you. It's quite hot, so I recommend bringing long clothes or wearing them. 🤓

Wat Pho is the largest and oldest temple in Bangkok, and it's the temple where you can see the largest reclining Buddha in Thailand. The third photo is the largest reclining Buddha. To see the reclining Buddha, you have to take off your shoes and go in barefoot. The Buddha was really big, so I think it took about 20 minutes to walk around it and look around.

The pagodas and Buddha statues inside the temple were really big and gorgeous, so it was a feast for the eyes! There are pagodas honoring the king, various artworks, and statues, so it would be good to set aside about 1 to 1.5 hours to walk around the temple ;)

There were so many stray cats inside the temple that I spent about 20 minutes petting them 🤭 They were all very cute and liked people so much that some cats followed them around 🥺

If you have visited Thailand, you should visit Wat Pho, a Thai temple where you can really feel the Thai atmosphere! I recommend you visit once and have a different experience 🤍
